Ok the number you provided seems to be a commission number from at a guess after 1981.
Possible as I had a 1982 pickup.
It could be that someone did not see the VIN plate when doing the paperwork or the VIN plate was missing but the Commission plate was still there.
As you may be aware commission numbers are not recorded as well as VIN numbers. Though BMH may have it on record but it would cost you to get the info.
VIN length was not a fixed thing with the Mini as there were a number of different ways it was configured.

Carb rebuilt.
It runs again.
Still waiting on parts for the carb so directed some paint and added some stickers.
On Saturday bought more gas for the welder (sorting the ramps out for the trailer) and then ran out of wire 2 times. Shops shut!
More shopping on Monday.

What is the best and strongest carb. Cleaner you guys have found? I gave a badly gummed up Weber that needs cleaning.
