Cut some parts off an old front.
Removed the welds.
Sent them for powder coating.
Will get bonded in place later. -
Was thinking about changing the dash and using a pod for the Rev counter.
Well the pod did not hold the Rev counter so some mods were needed.It works but I think I will go back to the original set up.
Need to make a few changes to it but it will be fine. -
New front end ordered and made.

Ball joint spacers fitted. Needed to mod the ARB drop links.

As pictures are better than words
They are 1 1/2" the same as the ball joints but a 38mm spanner will fit.I ended up getting them from MondoMotor sport. But they are re doing their website so had to contact via face book if you have problems send me q message and I can provide an email address.
But it is Leigh that is now in charge as his father has retired.

The reason for asking about cellulose is that is what I painted it in 20 years ago.
Yep could go down the acrylic line but.... Ordering paint online is rather hard as it is not the original paint and I have no code to go by.
Luckily I will be back in the UK soon and I can get some cans made up. Just need to take part of the car so they can match it.

What are you guys using for paint to touch up your old Celulose paint?
What do you ask for?
As I am looking to get some cans made up for touch ups.
But it looks like Celulose paint is either hard or impossible to get here.

Agreed. But in some form of motor sport in the UK there was not that requirement.
Anyway I have managed to get hold of the latest rules and regs and 38x2.5mm is acceptable and the rollcage provider has it available.
Might have to re specify with any German metal suppliers I talk to.

Sure I can have a look over it for the normal Mini problems. BUT I have no experience of the SPi set up or the electronic ignition that they use but I know just about every trick that can be done or has been done to a Mini.
But the Minis over here seem to be in good or as is condition unlike many I have seen in the UK.
