Sorry about the english.
Hello Jonathan,
if you want to know something about that kind of mini (Mini IMA) then I can give you some information. Otherwise if you are looking for the owner I'm sorry because I don't know him.
Just let me/us know what you exactly want to know and we will try our best....
Best wishes and merry X-mas
This Mini is registered in Baden-Baden (south west of Germany in the Black Forest)
I had lived near there for a while but never seen the car, so I'm sorry I don't know the owner...
Maybe he is active in 'Mini IG Baden' this is a Mini Club in this area.
hi....
I am not so familiar with that estate station waggon , but why are you trying to get in contact? is that hatchback standart for that type ? i am not sure, but do you have that pictures bigger ? can you read that sticker on the side window (mini profile)
hi jonathan,
ask here for more informations:
Michael Baudendistel, Die Werkstatt
maybe he knows the owner. the sticker on the side window contains his web adress.
Hi
Thanks for all your help and reply's.
I'm looking for any larger pics of the mini and for any info on how the rear door was fitted and what hinges were used. I'm trying to mount my rear door to open upwards and it would help me if i could ask the owner some questions.
Thanks,
Jonathan
Merry Christmas
Hi again
your questions can be answered...
The single rear door is hinged on the roof with some I guess self made hinges by the IMA company in Portugal.
The door lock is the well known MKI/MKII passenger door lock. It engages in a "U" shaped counterpart in the middle of the lower door cutout. The outer handle is again from MKI/MKII minis boot. Be aware that the IMA Mini Estates have no cutout for the door locking push rods. That means that the lower door seal needs a straight panel to work properly. Hold open device is a common door damper. The door itself is made of steel and therefore is not one of those aftermarket glassfibre things.
To get hold of some door hinges or other parts ask http://www.prostreet.de as this company imported a lot of IMA Minis to Germany and also provides some specific spare parts.
I might have the chance to get some detailed pictures from a IMA Mini from one of our club members but this will take some time....
Best regards and again Merry Christmas
Thanks,
I will contact them,
Some more pics would be great
Thanks again.
Jonathan
the owner wouldn't be able to help you anyway...
i met him at5 the IMM entrance as his car broke down. he gave it to my english mates to get it repaired as he said of himself that he has absolutely no technical knowledge...
well... we repaired his car on two different days. very friendly person but also not member in any mini club.
which makes it even more brave coming along all the way to barcelona on his own...
